Dismayed by the critical humanitarian disaster afflicting East African countries such as Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya,The People's Lunch Counter & The Black Chamber Movement, along with Warmedia, Poor Vida and other organizations are taking action by providing a night of edutainment while calling upon the hip hop community, activists, private companies, citizens and individuals to help provide humanitarian assistance to needy people of the Horn of Africa region.

Somalia has been hit by the worst drought in 60 years and UN officials based in East African countries have declared it "the worst humanitarian crisis" in the world today. Approximately 50,000 refugees cross into neighboring Kenya and Ethiopia each month while hundred of thousands are displaced inside Somalia. According to the recent reports aired by national and international media, women, children and elderly people are dying everyday on their way to the refugee camps in Kenya and Ethiopia.
