Red Bull Music Academy

Written by Colin Roy Monday, 20 February 2012 17:03

Are you a producer, rapper, or even just a hardcore fan? An you don't know about the Red Bull Music Academy? C'mon Son! OK, fans, you are excused, so long as you come out to Slip Inn on Thursday to check out the event and learn ya'self. If you are an artist though, you need to start your research yesterday, and do whatever it takes to get on board.

The application phase for the 2012 edition of the Red Bull Music Academy has started! To pave the way for the New York edition of the RBMA we will touch down in selected spots worldwide to spread the Academy vibe. Tonight it is all about turntablism, showcased by San Francisco based Invisibl Skratch Pickl and Berlin 1999 Academy lecturer DJ Shortkut. As member of the world famous Beat Junkies, he's taking the precision and musicality of DJ techniques, and fuses them to make new compositions, keeping the backbone of hip hop as strong as it ever was. This Red Bull Music Academy Night Dallas at the Slip Inn is free of charge and 21+ only.
